Seem to remember Arthur Alan Thomas who was in a like position until Pat
proved the shell case and the bullet didn't fit..

Yep that was an exception though. In the mean time the cops have put thousands of other guilty killers, rapists and thus where they belong.

    One exception to the rule?
If Pat Booth had not spent literally thousands of hours doing the
research and with the help of Jim Sprott proved the police planted
evidence and lied AAT would still be inside.
How many others haven't had the same dedicated teams to disprove the
police version but have later been shown to have been innocent?

AAT is one exception to the rule. Yes.

I don't think anyone's saying the system or the police are perfect. I do however think they are pretty good. It is hard to prove guilt beyond reasonable
doubt - that's why so many crimes go unpunished.

    Do you have a solution?

A -real- independent (no police or agents) body to query police malfeasance. With power to punish by fine and imprisonment any false evidence given
by a sworn officer and accessories without a time limit
    That'll do for a start
