Always thought The Shining was a bit dull and extremely slow. However, I
    REALLY enjoyed Dr Sleep.

The young lad from the Shining has grown up (as played by Ewan McGregor)
and finds himself being contacted by a young girl, who possess the same
    psychic powers.

Anyway, long story short, seems she's being hunted down by these strange
people who "inhale" peoples life force, which gives them eternal life
and so the two hatch a plan to lure them into a trap.

It's a bit of a slow burner, but it passed 2 and a half hours extremely
well. As it fills in the backstory of what happened to young Danny after
The Shining and introduces the story's villains.

    Definitely worth watching.

I thought it was great other than a few missteps. Definitely a lot
better than i think anyone expected it to be.

watched it after the terrible it 2 - which i'm sure made it even more entertaining than it otherwise would have been.

The book is (as usual) better than the movie. Writer/director Flanagan
made his task extra difficult by trying to sequelize the very different
book and film versions of The Shining, instead of ignoring the film version
as King's novel did. This causes the movie to go slightly off the rails in
the home stretch. That being said, this is still one of the best movie adaptations of a novel that I've seen. Really well done and almost
    perfectly cast. 4/5 for me.

I was surprised by how good the film is. Recommended for fans and non
    fans of King.

Admit it - the "martyr"-scene was a fucking load of bullshit. There was no reason for it.
