Winnipeg police have laid charges against several people in connection
with two drug busts in Osborne Village.
Global News has learned the raids happened at 383 Gertrude Avenue and
71 Roslyn Road, both on Nov. 3.

It was part of a two month investigation by the Organized Crime Unit
which targeted members of the Zig Zag Crew, a support club of the
Hell’s Angels.
“The impact of this investigation reaches far beyond the criminal
justice system,” Division Cmdr. Max Waddell said. “As long as there is
demand for illicit drugs, the supply chain will remain.”
Police arrested five people, including brothers Joel and Nicholas
Bruneau.
Officers said high ranking members of the Zig Zag Crew are now behind
bars and the arrests will have a significant impact.
“I’ve worked on the Zig Zag Crew and the outlaw biker area for
sometime,” Detective Steve Mitchell said. “I know this particular
arrest, with who is in custody, will effect (the gang).”
Police said the seizure was sizable and significant and included:
cash in excess of $150,000.00
7 pounds of marijuana
100 grams of marijuana Resin
29 fentanyl blotter tabs
3.2 grams of fentanyl powder
bullet proof vest
brass knuckles
12 Rounds of .357 magnum ammunition
money counter
packaging materials
documentation
contaminated press plates
various Hells Angels support wear
full patch Zig Zag crew vest
2.5 kilos of cocaine
502.3 grams MDMA
approximately 75 kilograms of benzocaine
2 contaminated scales
packaging materials
cocaine contaminated cooking pot
contaminated blender and measuring cups
several ounces of an unknown substance
numerous empty kilo packaging

Joel Bruneau and a 21-year-old woman, were charged with several
offences:
possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking
possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000
possess body armour without a valid permit or in a manner inconsistent
with the valid permit
possession of a prohibited device or ammunition knowing its possession
is unauthorized
Nicholas Bruneau, 31-years-old, and Thomas Ross Halpin, 29-years-old,
both from Winnipeg, face a number of charges.
Jordan Houston, 26-years-old, was arrested Nov. 8.
