Meanwhile, the local downtown business association in Santa Cruz
California became the "Downtown Corporation" shortly after the long-time representative for the association fled to Boulder Colorado, and "No
Trespass Order" signs begin appearing on walls in walkways and alleys
allegedly giving the city... NOT THE PROPERTY OWNERS, jurisdiction over
who is allowed to be there. The local "Safety Patrol"/PR operation is contracted to an out of state company called "Block-By-Block", which is
how they intend to privatize a public street downtown... block by
half-empty storefront block, and eventually their whole FAILING business district pandering to transient techies and affluent UC students the
local paper refers to as 'the community'.
