    DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP —
A Mason woman is in the Warren County jail on one count of
identity theft, as well as theft and misuse of credit cards
charges after police said she had sex with a man and then stole
    his credit cards.

According to a Warren County Sheriff's Office incident report,
Melissa Bergman met two men at a bar inside a Deerfield Township
hotel on Mason Montgomery Road on October 29.

The victim told police he had never seen Bergman before but they
started talking, and "after approxmiately 30 minutes of
conversation, he was intoxicated and wanted to go to bed,"
leaving his friend and Bergman at the bar.

The victim did not want to talk with WLWT on camera because he
    said he has a girlfriend.

About a half hour later, "Bergman entered the room, which he
claimed startled him," because he was expecting his friend.

The victim told police, "Bergman walked over to him and made the
statement, 'I want to (expletive),'" and "without any further
conversation, he had sexual intercourse with Bergman."

The incident report said when the victim woke up the next
morning, Bergman was gone, and it wasn't until he got home that
he noticed "some items in his wallet were out of place," though
his credit cards were still there.

When the victim checked with his credit card companies, he
    discovered several fraudulent purchases.

The sheriff's office said Bergman charged more than $2,600
online for a vacation around 2 a.m., then went on a $300 Walmart
shopping spree at 3 a.m., all while the victim was sleeping.

Based on the time of the purchases, the victim told
investigators, "Bergman had to have returned to his room and put
his cards back in his wallet after using them."

The Warren County Sheriff's Office arrested Bergman Nov. 6. and
    booked her into jail.

Bergman's case was bound over to a Warren County grand jury but
    no date has been set.
