There is no evidence to suggest that people who have recovered from the coronavirus then have immunity, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has
    said.

Senior WHO epidemiologists warned despite the hopes governments across the world are putting on antibody tests, there is no proof those who have been infected cannot catch the virus again.

    https://www.standard.co.uk/news/world/coronavirus-survivors-immunity-world-health-organisation-warning-a4417696.html

The British Government has bought 3.5 million serology tests, which
measure levels of antibodies in blood plasma.

Many tests being developed are pin prick blood tests similar to widely
used instant HIV tests, that measure for raised levels of the antibodies
the body uses to fight the virus.

Speaking at a press conference in Geneva, Dr Maria van Kerkhove said:
“There are a lot of countries that are suggesting using rapid diagnostic serological tests to be able to capture what they think will be a measure
    of immunity.

“Right now, we have no evidence that the use of a serological test can
show that an individual has immunity or is protected from reinfection.”

She added: “These antibody tests will be able to measure that level of seroprevalence – that level of antibodies but that does not mean that somebody with antibodies means that they are immune.”

Dr van Kerhove said it was "a good thing" that so many tests are being developed.

But she cautioned: “We need to ensure that they are validated so that we
know what they say they attempt to measure they are actually measuring.”

Her colleague Dr Michael Ryan said the antibody tests also raised ethical questions.

“There are serious ethical issues around the use of such an approach and
we need to address it very carefully, we also need to look at the length
of protection that antibodies might give,” he said.

“You might have someone who believes they are seropositive (have been infected) and protected in a situation where they may be exposed and in
fact they are susceptible to the disease.”

Dr Ryan said the tests had to be used as part of a coherent public health policy.

The news casts doubt on how effective antibody tests will be as a measure
that enables Governments to ease their lockdown restrictions.

Earlier this month, Health Secretary Matt Hancock revealed the government
was considering handing out documents to allow people to "get back, as
much as possible, to normal life” amid a nationwide lockdown.

But experts were quick to criticise the so-called "immunity passports" as
it could lead to people deliberately trying to get infected so they could obtain one of the documents.

On Thursday the Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab extended the nation-wide lockdown by another three weeks and said the Government needed to be
satisfied of five things before any adjustments could be made in the
    future.

    ### - perhaps, in light of this, the uk's initial stance on
'herd-immunity' now makes more sense? (seemed dumb at the time, even
    reckless?)

i.e., perhaps they knew then that there's just no way to avoid becoming infected, and even reinfected several times over, the only thing to
sensibly thus do under the circumstances being to let it hit everyone in
the hope that some kinda 'herd' immunity might just build up to it over
time as our bodies slowly adjust/adapt to it, later then quickly opting to
just slow its progress down to a series of slower waves so some semblance
of society (80% ultimately) could carry on... only 20% of which are likely
to go on to develop more severe symptoms than just having a rotten cold...

that it's a new disease and we'll just have to get used to it + learn to
    live with it!

a small minority of course wont, but these are mainly all very old and
infirm people for the most part, and/or those with serious underlying + preexisting conditions who were really only clinging to life anyway due to
    the advances in medicine...

and which all seems kinda callous doesn't it huh, but then it's never
personal with Nature; the weak, the old and the infirm are usually always
the first to go whenever the pressure rises; it's just the way things are unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how ya looks at it, whole
species having been lost that way before...

our Chris here ultimately being the closest to the reality of the
situation right at the beginning then, when he stated it's prolly just
nature thinning out the herd (or words to that effect anyway)

and which would indeed now appear to be the case!

so then: anyone here need... thinning?? (really laffing)

how's about hands-up all those with militant issues for starters!

nope, no volunteers to be... thinned?

thought you lot were supposed to be brave or summat lol :)))

anyone with shitty attitudes then? (haha) no?

so ya's all gonna be as-good as gold from now on then huh...

    riiiiiiiight... :)))

ok let it be a case of - 'self-selection' - then, shall we?

first to fuck up and behave like an asshole: loses!

    (place yer' bets! grinz...) :D

oh for christ's sake i was only kidding.
I was sounding like a dip shit red neck or something.
you know 150,000 peeps a day get 'thinned on this Earth.
And to top that off over 100 billion have croaked here.
seemed to be business as usual life here in the Matrix.

    ### - i knew that haha, and took it as such, but then many's a true word
    spoken in jest too no?

ya hit the nail on the head without even trying! (very cool/impressive
    actually heh)

    ### - smile, our intuition 'is' a thing... plus ya really need to ask all
these 'questions' when you're in a dream state, although methinks you'll
find it all seems like nonsense to be even 'asking' such questions if/when
    ya do?

and because, in truth, we have no business asking such daft unanswerable questions anyway lol (something that's easier to realise in a dream state
than when we're awake for example...)

we're assholes when we're awake haha! rational morons! plus no wonder we
gets into so much trouble then huh, and our world is such a mess? look at
the crappy part of us that's runnin' it! ;)

i guess the zen-peeps only really learn to hold their rationality back
    some then huh...

they deliberately close/turn-down the internal dialogue to arrive at the
    sound of one hand clapping?

that IF there's anything 'else' there, it's only really under those circumstances (of inner silence) that it grabs the chance to come out, or
just pops-out occasionally when we lets our guard down ;)

WILDing (for example) is a state of inner silence! (all lucid dreaming is though to varying degrees)

so 'whatever' it is, we're actually closer to 'it' under the conditions of dreaming! that, or we've moved far enough away from rationality to be able
to touch on other levels (same thing heh)

either way, we really have no business asking such questions in waking as
only rational answers exist there, which is cool if ya wanna bake some
better bread or send a glorified washing machine to the moon, but useless
for asking about things that aren't strictly rational ;)
