    Another question.

How can I force synchronet (binkit) to force poll a hub?

With Vert I know I can touch qnets/vert.now - is there a similar approach for fido?

You can poll a node from the command line using binkit by running..

    exec/jsexec binkit -l 1:234/567

You can also poll nodes periodicaly with the binkpoll event. Set poll to yes in echocfg (in the binkp settings) and that node will be polled whenever your binkpoll event runs.

Got it, that's what I was after.

Is there a semaphore file that exists (or can be set up), for a single FTN upstream hub - that when created will poll a hub? (eg: like touch vert.now)

    touch data/binkpoll.now

    See http://wiki.synchro.net/config:semfiles#event_semaphore_files for details.

I haven't tried it myself but I think you can create a second event similar to the binkpoll event called poll1234 perhaps with different command line options and then touch poll1234.now.

You might have to play with that but I think it's doable.

    Oh, ok, that makes sense.

    (Slowly getting head around synchronet.)

    Thanks Al.
