How about Gamenet? https://gamenet.synchronetbbs.org - supports both FTN & QWK and there is a signup packet there...

    Hey folks..

Now that I finally got a new BBS up and running (to replace the old one), I am looking to expand the BBS message base.

I already subscribe to DoveNet, Virtualnet/AspectNet, and just recently joined FSXNet.

Any other good FTN based networks out there that you'd recommend?

There is GameNet. I had a hand in setting it up but it is Marisa's net and runs
on her server. It is a new net, not quite one year old yet but it is up and running and has activity. It is available by QWK or FTN, whatever works best for nodes. More info can be found here..

    I haven't heard of Virtualnet/Aspect net, what's that about?

I'm connected to a few, mostly quiet, though there's a couple of regulars on RetroNet and GameNet has a few regulars. I do run VKRadio, which is for any hobbyist with any interest in radio technology (ham/CB radio, scanning, remote control, and other wireless technologies). The net is modelled on FSXnet, where there's a small number of echos, and new ones are only added according to user demand.

... It's easy to be brave from a safe distance.

I'm all for Agoranet (great ASCII/ANSI artist scene), and MicroNet has seen decent activity recently.

a kind of niche net might be piNet for all those Raspberry Pi and DIY folks.

Google any of them and you should be able to find the .nfo packs.
