Hello Digital Man,
I have a question about tossing from QWK <-> FTN.
I have a small network, 5 or so QWK and 4 or so FTN links.
When a QWK node enters messages into the network all nodes receive the messages and I see something like
Exported 1 msg other -> GN_OTHER in my sbbsecho.log
On the other hand when an FTN link enters messages into the network the messages travel between the FTN links but are not saved to the message base and are not sent to the QWK links. I also don't see anything like GN_OTHER
other in my sbbsecho.log.
Is there a step I need to take for messages received from FTN nodes to be saved to the message base?

Do you have "Gate between net types" enabled for those message areas in SCFG?

In SCFG, are the message areas set up to bridge messages across network types = Y? Are they set up for both QWK and FTN = Y?
"0S" means don't filter based on age. Can you post the sbbsecho.log entries of the filtered messages?

I think I have this sorted. When someone on the FTN side posted the message was filtered due to age: 0.3 days. It was not saved at the hub so QWK nodes never got the message but it was sent to FTN nodes.
I just changed MaxNetmailAge and MaxEchoMailAge in the hubs sbbsecho.ini to 30D from 0S and I see my own posts saved on the hub.
I'll know once I see other nodes posting but right now it looks like that solved it.

Here's an entry from before I changed MaxNetmailAge and MaxEchomailAge..
2018-06-20 04:01:14 Importing /sbbs/fido/inbound/5b29d184.pkt (Type 2+, 1.0KB) from 32:1/5 to 32:1/10
2018-06-20 04:01:14 Filtering message from Al due to age: 0.3 days
And do you have an sbbsecho.ini backup (e.g. sbbsecho.0.ini) which has the old MaxEchomailAge value? I suspect (and hope) that it was a non-zero value.
Yes, it was set at 30S. I'm not sure how that got there. I set the hub back to >0S so I that will do what we want.
I think you said the issue was with FTN nodes, but I am connecting QWK and am also having issues.
I make a connection but there is never any new mail.
Maybe that is not really a problem. I did try posting to an area.
Maybe I just need to log on later and reset my pointers.

OK, I have posted a response to this message in the OTHER echo on GN.
I figured out what I did wrong. I did not realize that importing the echos from the included txt file would not link them to the hub. :) I should have that fixed later this weekend and I bet all will be well after that.

If you import the gn_subs.txt they should be set for QWK type, if you imported >the gn_subs.txt and it doesn't work I'd like to know.. :)
