Sounds like the claim of interference was invalid and poorly handled. Where do we go from here?

Vote on but we need to see if due to this confusion, we need to push the due date back 2 days.

I motion that the due date shift out 2 days to accomodate the hickup.

I'm concerned about this interaction though, such accusations without proof very well could serve to influence voters.

I honestly don't see why Ward sent those netmails either other than to stir up
shit. Under the guise of "helping" ? He's leaning back and smiling, while reading this echo from <wherever, who cares?>, laughing as fingers are pointed.
He's getting exactly what he wanted.

The real interference here is Phil's post, which never should have been made publicly in the first place, at least not without real evidence to back up such
an accusation. I'm a bit disturbed that a single netmail can manipulate someone
who is supposed to be impartial into making such a post that could be potentially damaging to someone's campaign.

So, it looks like Nick routed netmail as was his agreement and in complete alignment with net operations. He does not monitor in-transit email and
has clarified his stance with regards to echomail and other zones.

Dreshcher does have a nice figure; Streisand can act (I've seen it) and her rendition of the song "Memories" from the stage play "CATS" was in my top 5 of female singers in that play of that song. Ono should be locked in a room and have to listen to Slim Whitman's "Indian Love Call" being piped into that room 24/7. (-:

... I believe that this election should be fair and "open".

The reason this is a "One Sysop One Vote" election, is really because that is what Janis wanted, and we all respected her enough to conduct the election in that manner. I do agree and believe that every Sysop should have a say in elections no matter if its for a NC... or for a ZC.

However, I will politely point out to everyone, Phil, Fred etc that as per the mutually agreed upon rules:

Jun 11 - Jun 24 Opportunity to yell fowl and fix errors.

Therefore, there is a clear window of opportunity for everyone to call this an illicit, invalid election based on an accusation that someone "doesn't
like me" for whatever reason, making up an unsubstantiated claim about feeding to outside Zone 1. I politely challenge anyone to prove I'm doing this.

    Again... as per the rules:

    May 07 - May 20 Nominations accepted.
    Discussion begins.
May 20 - Nominations END at 23:59:59 UTC.
May 21 - Final list of candidates posted in Z1_ELECTION.
    Discussion continues.
May 27 - Discussion ends. Candidates stop campaigning.

So, plenty of time has elapsed and surpassed to call "fowl" right from the beginning, if someone out there thinks I'm taking orders from Belgium then everyone could of screamed murder and thats that.

The other reason that this election could be declared invalid, is for has been pointed out, that technically this is going against P4... in that the RC's are to handle this whole ordeal.

While it could be argued that some parts of P4 are outdated, what cannot be argued or debated is that whoever is elected as Z1C will be taking an absolute insurmountable amount of shit from not just the Z2C, but all other systems in the whole network who are egotistic, nodelist-obsessed, policy-obsessed, etc... people with real mental disorders, harassing the Z1C day and night.

For anyone who has not yet cast votes, I ask you that question, who do you think is more capable of not taking shit from others upon being elected.

Now: If anyone out there wants to call this election invalid for these
reasons, or wants to clearly disqualify me from the election *with proof*, then lets do so now, and not wait any further.

I'm not here to waste anyones time and don't want anyone wasting mine either.

I agree with your assessment. Also I had to wonder why this was brought up now
without any evidence. If there is any evidence of foul as it currently stands then it would be the postings "MSGID: 1:128/2 5b0ff8f6" and "MSGID: 1:128/2 5b0ff8f8". The timing is extremely suspect.

So far the only evidence of interference in the election process has been the previously mentioned posting from Phil Kimble.

that the RC's are to handle this whole ordeal.

RC's can still handle the "ordeal". Yes, nodes can vote and there will be a winner one way or the other as per the "popular" vote. Once that is done, the RC's can finalize the vote. We're not sending someone to the moon ffs. P4 has it's place but for the past 20+ years I've been involved with Fido (hiatis for 12 years), each zone has it's own "way". No need to reinvent the wheel. The natural flow of this election is going quite well. Once Phil and Fred have confirmed the vote totals, give it to the RC's first. I am sure they'll concur with the populist vote.

While it could be argued that some parts of P4 are outdated, what
cannot be argued or debated is that whoever is elected as Z1C will be taking an absolute insurmountable amount of shit from not just the Z2C, but all other systems in the whole network who are egotistic, nodelist-obsessed, policy-obsessed, etc... people with real mental disorders, harassing the Z1C day and night.

Umm, via paths Mark. I know, early on it sounded like an echomail leak because 'seen-bys' were mentioned but now apparently (if I have it straight) it was routed netmail from Z2 or a return answer that seems to have caused the controversy.

He's the author of a primary mailer. Of course he gets and sends lots of netmail. It's like Janis probably has exchanged several with Z2 members during this timeframe as well. I'm about to start a netmail with Bjorn. I'm looking for something for Fred Riccio that I wrote so we can update it and submit. (A best practices for nodelisting ION's).

That's not a good thing but somehow seenby and via became interchangable. Now I didn't see the post BF was quoting but I did see the one that accused Nick which, IMHO, was totally uncalled for. The kludge lines clearly showed the from and to addresses. Who really cares what the VIA line said.
