Areas affected...Southeast North Carolina into extreme northeast
    South Carolina

    Concerning...Tornado Watch 376...

    Valid 151601Z - 151800Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 376 continues.

SUMMARY...The threat for a few tornadoes will persist into this
afternoon, primarily across southeast North Carolina.

DISCUSSION...As of late morning the center of tropical storm
Florence was located over eastern South Carolina just southwest of
Myrtle Beach. The storm is forecast by the National Hurricane Center
to maintain a very slow west southwest drift this afternoon.
Organized storm structures including occasional meso-vortices and
bowing segments continue to develop within the outer convective
bands. The most prominent of these extending into southeast NC is
associated with long low-level trajectories of very moist air from
the Gulf Stream. Satellite presentation suggests that diabatic
heating of the boundary layer will remain minimal inland. However,
the fetch of mid 70s F near-surface dewpoints will maintain at least
weakly buoyant thermodynanic profiles within an environment of
sufficient 0-1 km shear for a threat of a few low-level mesocyclones
and tornadoes north and east of the storm center through this
    afternoon.
