What a fun place to be!
CT legislators tend to be entertaining, at least.

If you like black comedies and slasher films.

A lot of folks give up and move to North Carolina.
What a fun place to be!
The Carolinas can be, at least until Summer sets in.

My favorite part of the Carolinas is the upland
inland area, such as Asheville. About the coast
    I'm actually pretty unenthusiastic.

I wouldn't mind. Most of what I find is Maxwell House and poker-
    playing dogs.
Though you could conceivably use some of that eye
for antiquarian bargains to your advantage. By the
way, I hear poker playing dogs can be big money.
So I'm told. I did score a gold chain this morning for peanuts.
I'll use it to pay for my peanuts and other goodies.

See, you know these things - you should be able to
    put that to good use.

I just had a tooth pulled, long disgusting story omitted, so
    "Mouth"
is a dirty word right now.
What fun are you ... of course you're not a gi.
    Definitely not a judo belt.

Nor are you a fun guy.

isn't worth the effort. They have a bunch of garlic in the mix,
    but
it's that dried stuff with the bitter aftertaste. On the upside
    the
store marked them down to 50 cents, so not much money wasted.
Cheaper than birdseed. What were the things made of?
Mostly potato starch. That's why I figured they'd work.

You might find a situation where the burned garlic
    taste would be welcome.

    Burned garlic-broccoli rice
    Categories: vegan, main, starch
    Serves: 2 or 3

    1 c basmathi rice
    1/2 sm onion, chopped
    7 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 c broccoli, finely chopped or grated
    1/4 c capsicum, finely chopped
    - green, yellow, red, orange mix
    2 ts carrot, finely chopped
    5 ts oil
    1 pn garam masala
    salt to taste
    water as required

Rice should be soaked for 30 min.

Boil 3 c water, add salt and 1 Tb oil, then add rice
and cook it until 90% done. Drain and set aside.

Geat remaining oil, add chopped garlic, cook until
golden brown and nice aroma comes out.

Add onion and saute until it becomes translucent.
Add broccoli and mix well. Add salt. Add carrot and
capsicum and saute for a few seconds.

Add cooked rice and have a nice gentle mix.

Cover and cook 5 min on low flame. Check salt and
add a pinch of garam masala. Serve hot.

I have lots of allied health, medical and former military friends. I
can hang with the former at least. Not too fond of the latter.
Thankfully all the bloodletting is generally verbal; no one's pulled
a John C Calhoun or Aaron Burr in a while.

    I certainly try.

Actually, being kept in the dark and fed effluvient is my stock in
    trade.

Oddly the flavoring wasn't consistent. I turned some of them into a
Brei-like baked egg concoction and it tasted pretty decent. It
    buried the spices a bit.

Asheville and Montreat are where my father spent a good bit of time when
he was growing up, as his mother's family had a summer home in
Montreat... That is a lovely area, not too hot in summer, and stays mild
in winter... I visited Daddy's aunts there one January... Daddy talked
about retiring there, but never did... :)
