No fun. My Fido was down on Monday but back up the next day. I
don't mind short outages but if it's more than about 3 days, my
fingers get antsy. That's why I'm glad Steve can solve (most of,
but not all) my computer problems. He's also good about doing updates.
Must be the season... We had our DSL blocked on us last Thursday...
not something that Richard could fix... spent lots of time on the
phone with them, finally they put in a repair ticket... the tech was
able to get here a day earlier than promised (and in the morning
rather than the afternoon, too), so things got taken care of quickly
after all... No rhyme nor reason to why... the tech was able to just
    unblock....
The fun and joy of modern technology. Our younger daughter got rid of
all of her cook books--just looks up recipies on line as she needs
them. I like browsing thru a cook book to get ideas.

I'd just as soon have something in hand, too... ;) Just think how
frustrating it would be to have one's internet go down just when one was getting the recipe for supper.... ;(

Best just the internet, not the power. We were without power for almost
three hours Wed. night--car hit a pole nearby. We'd already had supper
(church night) but I'd not yet run the dishwasher. Did that when the
    power came back on.

True... losing power is even worse at suppertime... one could just
change to some other recipe one knew by heart.... ;)

Much worse. We had power for cooking supper and the basic clean up. Then
we had air conditioning which made it nice for sleeping. Steve hooked up
the generator so we were able to use some lamps and a fan while the
    power was out.

Quite--bought the generator to take with us for travel in the camper but
it has vome in handy at home as well. We could have cooked in the camper
on the gas stove if the power had stayed out longer.

Very much so. Could have fired up a grill for cooking also, had we the
need but I'm glad we didn't have the need.
