Quoting Bill Swisher to Jim Weller <=-

At last, somebody beside me who appreciates lima beans!

You mean those two 11 ounce bags of frozen baby lima beans in
    the freezer

I like the canned green ones and even the dry white ones but the
frozen ones are the best! (I've never come across fresh ones; they
just aren't a thing here.) They were a slow moving item in my store
so they dropped them a few months ago. Their spot in the freezer
aisle is now occupied by trendy, expensive edamame beans, which look
    and taste kind of similar.

We only get frozen ones. Like you, I've not seen fresh ones in our
    stores.

(I've never come across fresh ones; they

Black eyed peas are another matter. We buy those as dried peas. One
time I was getting BEP for Hoppin John for New Years, and store was out
of dried, but did have fresh. I tried them and it was just not the
same. We did not like the result.

Whole Paycheck (Foods) has them as does Hy-Vee and Humphrey's (local to
me). If you ask down the Wegman's in your town you might get surprised.

My favourites are the "baby" Limas - but I likes 'em all even the big
old (literally) white, mealy "butter beans".
