... I do not have my ducks in a row. I have quirrels & they're at a rave.

    Did you mean "squirrels"?

... Why is a hundred weight 112 pounds?

Because it's a British measure - from 1835 the Weights and Measures Act formally established the present imperial hundredweight (all one word)
of 112 lb. Putting paid to all the other varying values. Nothing is
logical in their measuring system. For instance a foot (12") comes from
the length of King Edward's foot and is based on "inch" units which are themselves based on an inexact "standard" that in "inch" equals the
three (3) barleycorns laid end-to-end. Which could mean that in a bumper
crop year the foot could stretch. Before 1835, that is.

... There is no way to know how many ounces are in a stone!

Sure there is. The 1835 Weights and Measures act set the weight of a "standard" stone at 14 pounds. So, stone X 14 X 16 will give you the
    answer --- 224 ounces. Or 6.35 kg. Currently I displace 18.6 stone -
which sounds a lot less than 260 lb or 118 kg on my 17.5 hands (used
    to be 18) frame. Bv)=
