Lum's I don't miss as much having not really become accustomed to
it... but HoJo's I also miss... The orange roofs were as much a
landmark as the golden arches of today, and much better food was served within... It was one of the few real restaurants Daddy would take the family to... and there was still one in the Rochester area when we
first moved here... long gone, of course, now... I also remember my
aunt taking me to one for pistachio ice cream... her favorite... and
now also one of mine... ;)

When we lived in Pittsburg, we would occasionally drive out 20+ miles to
the Howard Johnsons on the turnpike. I would always get pistachio ice
cream there. That is also where we met Louis Armstrong in person at the
    lunch counter.

They did have good pistachio ice cream... also other nice flavors, but especially the pistachio... :)

That is also where we met Louis Armstrong in person at the lunch

A special memory... :) He must have been traveling to a show
    somewhere... :)
