    Courtesy of thewinecellarinsider.com, here's a list
    of reputable Kosher Bordeaux
I'll have to copy the list for friends who keep Kosher.

Go to that site, which gets updated. For
other Kosher wines of a reasonable standard
your friends could just throw themselves
on the mercy of the Royal Wine Company -

    a totally broad brush, though.
OTOH I'd still prefer the grape juice.
I would not do so unless the wine were
worse than Manischewitz (which I am led to
believe no longer makes the stuff).
Not so's I've noticed. It has its uses, just not as a beverage.

    Pancake syrup?

Honey, apples, nuts... it would take some work to mess it up.
    I know people who could.
    They'd certainly try.

I have friends who have the culinary
equivalent of a brown thumb, some of
the level of talent that they live up
to the description "could burn water."

pineapple and onion like pork. Cooking it, it was made raw, took
    the
    repeats out of the onions.
That bromelain can settle your digestion
sometimes, but I don't understand that last
    sentence.
It had raw onion in it. Raw onion and garlic make their presence
known for hours and sometimes a full day after consumption. And I'm sensitive to bromelain in quantity.

For you, the amswer is probably the classic
one - isolate yourself from polite company
    for a day after.

Yeah, well, it was almost the same as the one
you originally sent. And, yes, it probably
would go fine on cream cheese, sort of the
way other strong-flavored things get mellowed
and civilized by the rich dairy. Chutney, of
course, is along the same lines, but there are
also salty contrasts that work well - smoked
oysters are a classic, for example.
But not for Passover, I'd hope.

The overwhelming majority of Passover foods
are fleischig, anyway. There's again nothing
doctrinal about this; the first Seder is
necessarily fleisch, but the rest of the week
doesn't have to be. You could cover your cream
cheese with smoked finfish, as often happens
in real life anyway, for example.

    Mock oysters
    categories: mock-Seafood, side, casserole
    Serves 8

2 md eggplants, peeled, 1/2" cubes
1 lb coarse saltine cracker crumbs
    1 ts salt
    1/2 ts pepper
4 oz butter, cut into small pieces
    1 pt half-and-half

Soak eggplant in salted water for 8 hr; drain.
In a saucepan, cover eggplant with slightly
salted water. Cook on medium for 20 min or
until tender, then drain. Preheat oven to 350F.
Line bottom of 2-qt casserole with 5 oz saltine
crumbs. Cover with 2 c eggplant. Season with
half the salt and pepper. Sprinkle half of the
butter pieces on top. Cover with 5 oz saltine
crumbs. Add rest of eggplant, salt, and pepper.
    Cover with remaining saltines. Sprinkle
remaining butter pieces on top. Pour enough
half-and-half to cover. Bake 1 hr or until top
browns. M would use unsalted-top saltines.

"Please sirs, we need wine that tastes like wine instead of ice cream topping."

I would not do so unless the wine were

believe no longer makes the stuff).
Not so's I've noticed. It has its uses, just not as a beverage.

    Pancake syrup?

Ice cream or sorbet topper too. It might work for an alcoholic
    purple cow.

Honey, apples, nuts... it would take some work to mess it up.

Sounds like my late dad in a kitchen. He needed directions to make
    instant coffee.

I'm not sure I'm ever in polite company. The other answer is for
everyone to consume the same thing and let the chips and air
    freshener fall where they may.

also salty contrasts that work well - smoked
oysters are a classic, for example.
But not for Passover, I'd hope.

The overwhelming majority of Passover foods

True, but oysters are Treyf by definition.

doctrinal about this; the first Seder is
necessarily fleisch, but the rest of the week
doesn't have to be. You could cover your cream
cheese with smoked finfish, as often happens

Sure does. Or just go straight for the lox and make everyone happy.

    Serves 8

2 md eggplants, peeled, 1/2" cubes
1 lb coarse saltine cracker crumbs

Now this might work. Real oysters are on the forbidden list, but
    eggplant is almost required.
