I never explored the option of chocolate milk
if there was one. An extra penny for chocolate
might have been worth it even then.
Especially the times that the milk had been allowed to warm up some...
the chocolate covered the slightly off taste... ;)
It was easy for me to save up for lunch, because
even then I found milk dubious in taste and effect.

I can see that... and for me, even then, I enjoyed milk, at least when
    it wasn't off-taste.... (G)

chicken leg a bit of a luxury item... but sounds like it was worth
    every penny of it... :)
If you like dark meat and grease.
    Which we both do... (G)
I did save up those pennies.

    Indeed... :)

There is the saving grace of an authentic
Chinese menu, on which you can find things that
likely would be pleasing, such as deep-fried squid
tentacles for 7.25 as an appetizer.
Something to ask for if not offered it.... the menu, for sure... :)
It's on the Website in English, so it should be
    accessible enough.
    One would hope... :)
Have you rescheduled that bamboo lunch yet?

Not yet... was kinda waiting for my sister to initiate, but perhaps that
is being too optimistic.... ;) I'll probably call our mutual friend and
push her to arrange it again.... :) She's more into back-and-forth
    texting than I am...

You didn't have to endure the lowest points. It
would have been comfort if others had been staying
at the house, but I was given authorization to use
the place for picnic purposes but not to put anyone
    up there overnight.
I brought my friend Donna to that one, and she'd've wanted to stay in
the motel even had you been able to put people up.... but otherwise,
I'd've been happy enough to had you been allowed...
I would have done well with a bodyguard.

From what I heard from you afterwards, quite agreed on that...

I hear Dorothy Mayman has had some health
    issues, though.
Sorry to hear that.... hope she'll be ok... :)
Don't know. Greg was prevented from meeting with
us on the last trip, and I was afraid to ask.
Maybe Jim could find out through his sources....?
    Maybe I could. We'll see.

Jim did give report... sounds like she's on the mend now...

... Mashed potatoes with skim milk is like a sports car with an automatic.
But you could turbocharge it with garlic.
Even better with whole milk... ;)
I actually don't see skim milk being good for
anything except to assuage the guilty
consciences or neuroses of eaters with wrong
    priorities.

I'm certainly with you there.... I did, back in my baking days, add
powdered skim milk to the mix for enrichment... but there'd be whole
milk in there as well.... the skim was beyond and above....

    ttyl neb

... Did you hear about the baker who was short of dough?
