Probably a different plane of existence, but I'm sure that even vast resources or riches don't predicate contentment.... :)
Not contentment, as we've seen, but the
    opportunity to relax, wherefrom contentment
    would be possible.
    At least in theory... :)

    Not everyone acts on possibilities.

And perhaps more - habitual filing off of
edges courts the danger that one will
underestimate the potential for problems in
    the future.
    Possible.

I think it a very real phenomenon that
leads to the temporarily comforting but
    ultimately defeatist attitudes "it'll all
turn out," "que sera, sera," and "it is what
    it is."

Hmm... that does sound like it would become quite boring....
Not for some, including her. Not for me, either,
though I'd go easy on the potatoes.
I suppose that if I were to be eating "American" food, I'd be ok with
that, with substitution of veggies for the salad.... But I tend to be
much more interested in eating th variety of Asian foods that we usually do.... :)

I could eat beef twice or thrice a day every
    day essentially until doomsday.

Perhaps. Nestling in amid the instruments puts
one in a comfy spot where one just doesn't care
about that stuff, not that I'm inclined to give
much credence to what's above in any case.
Just play the music, ignore everything but the conductor, eh...?

Even the conductor, much of the time.

We shall see. I'm going to be with her for
    her first appointments.
    Probably a good thing... :)
    Starting today. Whoop-di-do, what fun.
    Is the PT helping any...?

    Lilli was given some sensible-looking
exercises, which she's doing with the
incentive of feeling better. They seem
    to be helping.

Ok... I'm overdue on checking up on Fords.... will try to get to that sometime soon....
    Please do, speaking of aging.
Exactly. Haven't yet... maybe later tonight...
Thanks for leaving that in as a reminder.... haven't connected yet...

And the counter to that is probably that that's what tenure's for....
I suppose one could pray for an early retirement to occur.... :)
Bad match plus tenure equals a really
bad match. I've seen those. They take it
    out on their students.
    Often.
And as with my conversation with Ruth about bad
    doctors, often, frequently, only once.
And the reputation spreads, so some students manage to avoid even that
once, by not taking any classes from that teacher....

And so the marketplace works, sometimes.

Never having been a real bird or a real
child, I can't speak from their points of
view, but to me fruit are decidedly
different from in my younger years.
True... and not for the better...
Seldom if ever for the better.
    Despite the optimists' proclamations... (G)

    The optimistic proclamations probably are
not from optimists, rather from cynics.

Finally did connect last night... They send greetings to the echo...
and Burt asked about everybody, so I tried to fill them in... :)
Shirley fell in the bathroom a few weeks ago, and broke a rib and
bruised around it by falling against the tub side... She's healing well
from that, and they both sound pretty good... They aren't doing a lot of traveling this time of year, understandably... :) We're planning to
    get together sometime come spring....
