Somehow I missed knowing about them... probably because where I was,
they were more in the background....

Maybe I was in the half that they didn't serve.....?

Chances are you used Follett books when you were in school. I know I
did (my mother was a librarian and I learned a lot of the backend
stuff at a young age).

Possibly, but also reasonably likely that I didn't... Most of my K-12
school years were in small(ish) Christian schools, not in the public
school system.... Richard's mom was also a school librarian, but I
didn't get much information from her until after we got married.... and
not much of the backend stuff....
