Cambridge Oktoberfest / A lot of places were selling Blue Moon,
that's the sort of event it was.
I was not familiar with Blue moon and had to wiki it. That is just
so wrong on so many different levels!

It's very quenching. Of course, so is soda water
    with citrus.

More gin and vermouth drinks that aren't quite martinis...

    of lemon peel.

As I'm a brandy person, I might like this, but
I'm not sure about the marriage between those
    two primary spirits.

My quarrel wasn't about the quality or the style of the beverage so
much as the fact that a mega corp was holding itself out to be a
small craft brewer and mislabeling their product (as Belgian as
opposed to Belgian Style) until forced to desist with a lawsuit
and their offerings of pumpkin spice, peanut butter and other silly
    brews.

Quite frankly, neither am I. I haven't attempted this combination
    yet.

    Lemongrass martini
    2 oz Absolut Kurant
    1 oz Cointreau
    1 oz lemon juice
    garnished with lemongrass stalk.

It might taste wonderful but as she has made substitutions not only
of the traditional garnish but both of (all of) the two primary
ingredients, it really shouldn't be called a martini just because of
the shape of the glass it's served in.

    Another lemongrass flavoured cocktail ...

    Title: Zen Press
    Categories: Alcohol, Beverages
    Yield: 1 Serving

1 Inch of cucumber, peeled and
    Cut into 1/4 inch rounds
    3/4 Shot lemongrass syrup
    1 Shot Hendrick's Gin
    Ice
    Sprite
    Seltzer
    LEMONGRASS SYRUP:
    1 c Sugar
    1 c Water
    1 Stalk lemongrass

As promised, the unveiling of the divinely delish drink sampled
the other night at, shock and horror, the chain restaurant, P.F.
Chang's. The cocktail is called Zen Press and is a gin drink made
    with cucumbers and lemongrass syrup. The type of gin used is key;
they use Hendrick's Gin, a Scottish gin scented with cucumbers and
rose petals. The Zen Press smells intriguingly of melons and
honeysuckle, the lemongrass syrup and rose scented gin registered
as honeysuckle when I stuck my nose in the glass. The flavors are
    sophisticated, smooth, and refreshing.

I liked, loved, this drink so much I had my friend and server
ask the bartender how the drink was made: two slices of cucumber
muddled in a glass, a shot of lemongrass syrup, and a shot of gin
topped off with Sprite and seltzer.

Lemongrass syrup: Place sugar and water into a small pan. Cook over
medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar crystals have
dissolved. Slice the pale, fleshy base of lemon grass into small
rounds and add to the sugar and water mixture. Let the syrup cool
for at least 30 minutes, or longer for stronger flavoring. Strain.

Zen Press: Muddle cucumber slices in the bottom of a glass. Add
lemongrass syrup and gin. Stir, and strain into a glass. Add ice,
and top with a splash of Sprite and Seltzer.
