Should have gone to the picnic, where there was plenty
of rain, but there was warm conversation and a wood stove.
I am hoping that next year around picnic time, a bird won't decide to
    fly into
a 15kV transformer, blow a phase out, and cause us to replace all the main switchgear in one of our local factories. That's why I couldn't go.
    Who knows
    what next year may bring?

I'm glad that you keep trying; perhaps things will be
more favorable in another year. There have been rumblings
about a more southerly picnic, so that may make things
    easier.

It is that time of year. Sadly, I hear that we're likely
to experience a chicken and pig shortage this fall.
That will be most unfortunate for the holiday season.

We'll see. The straining of CHinese-US trade relations
may alleviate this issue for American consumers; who
    actually knows.

    Creamy Tuscan Garlic Chicken
    categories: Californian, Italian, poultry, main
    servings: 4 to 6

1 1/2 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts
    - sliced thin
    2 Tb olive oil
    1 c heavy cream
    1/2 c chicken broth
    1 ts garlic powder
    1 ts Italian seasoning
    1/2 c Parmesan
    1 c spinach, chopped
    1/2 c sun-dried tomatoes

In a large skillet, add olive oil and cook
chicken on medium-high heat for 3 to 5 min
on each side, or until brown on each side
and no longer pink in center. Remove
chicken and set aside on a plate.

Add heavy cream, chicken broth, garlic powder,
Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese. Whisk
over medium-high heat until it starts to
thicken. Add spinach and sundried tomatoes and
simmer until spinach starts to wilt. Add
chicken to the pan and serve over pasta, if
    desired.

    Hello MICHAEL,

I'll make it eventually. These monthly trips for my job have helped build my tolerance back up for driving long distances though I'd prefer a more southerly picnic.

My family usually has turkey and ham for both Thanksgiving and Christmas though one of my wives (I can't remember which, is that bad?) loved to make lasagna for Christmas.

    Later,
    Sean
