Pretty much. They darned well ought to have known better, but
    politicians
    will be politicians.
It does seem to take a certain type to
    go into the business.
It definitely attracts a "type" these days; you have to have a certain
level of ego to even want the job.

A large dash of greed helps, as well.

That's one of the points that has periodically
    come up.
    ...whilst among starving artists...?
... whose numbers diminish due to starvation
    or seeing the light ...
    And thus the day jobs.

    That was the inevitable.

Life without waltzes, what a pity.
You do run across 6/8 once in a while.

6/8 is just 2/2 in disguise.
If sometimes a bit slower tempo. I've sung some harmonies in 6/8 over a
2/2 main lyric, so you're right.

Sometimes a bit slower, often quite quick.
Tarantellas and what my friend Cheryl used to
call "gig-oos" were generally in 6/8.

    One bad tern deserved another.
    What a gut wrenching thought.
    Awk-ward position to be in.

    Paprika Chicken
    Categories: California, poultry, main
    Servings: 6

    1 c all-purpose flour, plus 2 Tb
    2 Tb dried marjoram
    3 ts sweet paprika
    Kosher salt
    freshly ground black pepper
    2 Tb unsalted butter
    2 Tb olive oil
1 chicken, (3 to 4 lb) cut into 8 pieces
    3 lg onions, chopped
    1 Tb sugar
    4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
    2 red bell peppers, diced
    1 c tomato paste
    2 c chicken broth
1 ts crushed red pepper flakes
    2 c sour cream
    1/2 c chopped fresh dill

Mix 1 c flour, 1 Tb marjoram, 1 ts paprika,
and salt and pepper in a dish.

    Heat a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat;
add butter and oil. Heat until butter has
    melted and oil is shiny.

Sprinkle chicken all over with salt and pepper.
Dredge chicken in seasoned flour on all sides.
Shake to remove excess flour before placing
chicken into the Dutch oven. Working in batches
if necessary, sear chicken on both sides until
golden brown, 4 min per side. Remove chicken
to a plate and set aside.

Add onions to the pot and reduce heat to medium.
Sprinkle with sugar and some salt and pepper.
Cook, stirring occasionally, until onions have
softened and turned golden, about 12 min. Add
garlic and bell peppers and cook for 1 min more.
Add tomato paste, chicken broth, red pepper
flakes, 1 Tb marjoram, and 2 ts paprika; stir
to combine. place chicken back in the pot,
nestling it in the sauce. Reduce heat to low and
simmer, covered, until chicken is very tender
and reaches an internal temperature of 165,
about 50 min. Remove chicken to a serving dish.

Mix sour cream with remaining 2 Tb flour in a
medium bowl. Stir mixture into the sauce.

Pour sauce over chicken and sprinkle
    generously with dill.

Hence the tendency of local pols to land in jail. The ones who get to the national level have lawyers and underlings who handle the dirty stuff
    instead.

I have more than a few friends good enough to go pro, one of whom I wish
WOULD record, but they like to eat.
