arm, there would be liability, but short of that, no.
Nuisance, noise pollution, and wakes swamping swimmers
and canoes, one has to tolerate all.
    A shame indeed...
Freedom includes the freedom to be an inconsiderate jerk,
up to the limits that society sets, and clearly society
hasn't been hard enough on motorboat operators.
    Indeed, and also quite clearly....

Mines come to mind as well, but they're even noisier.

I try to make up for my indulgences by self-control
elsewhere. Problem is that all signs are pointing to the
situation becoming critical faster than anyone ever thought.
Could be... If everyone tried to make up in some way for whatever indulgences, perhaps that would be more likely somewhat mitigated, but
    hard to tell, now...

I do overindulge on meat and travel so can't cast
    too awfully many stones.

In the long run, an organ was cheaper and easier to
    maintain than an instrumental ensemble!
True... and besides, if one did have the instrumental ensemble as well, could blend well with that as well... :)
I suspect that, as in houses of worship today, the
instrumental ensembles were for special occasions,
except maybe in the more wealthy and prestigious venues.
Depending on what sort of available talent might be at hand...
especially that willing to volunteer.... :)

I can't even transport my virtual brain that far back.

That's likely, and many of the staff are less
    addled than the passengers.
    One would hope... ;)
They're there primarily for our safety, after all.
True, even it usually viewed as being there for conveniemce and
    comfort... ;)

tttt, there have been some to whom entrusting my
safety would have been not so great an idea.

A little more than I was expecting, to be honest... ;) But they did
    catch
my eye when I was going through the magazine, and I thought possibly others might also find them mildly interesting... :)
    If not stomach-turning.
Ok, I'll admit... the vegan sausage was meant a bit as a chain-yank... ;)

    Go stand in the corner.

three persons named Marty account for over 50% of my
disagreeablenesses in all the echos forever, all, I seem
to recall, regarding their overzealous and overreaching
notions of creative content and intellectual property.
Thankfully now safely in your past, it appears....?

I presume so. A lot of it was taking over from Howard
Karten as host of RIME-Cuisine (the network was run by
a brother-sister team the female of which decreed that
moderation was to be called hosting so as to make the
network more friendly than all the others. It didn't
    seem to work).

So, it would be vegetarian (lacto-ovo anyway), just not vegan...
perhaps someone just got confused there...
I looked it up - turns out that the Quorn people devised a
special vegan recipe for Gregg's. Quorn itself is not vegan,
though the company's publicity claims it is edging in that
    direction.
Ah... So it wasn't a stretch of the truth, after all....

Perhaps not, but calling the filling quorn-based is
    not quite accurate.

... Instant gratification takes too long.

That's what hard drugs are for.

    +
There ought to be, for those, especially children, who
    need it, though.
Around here, there are free lunches available for kids, practically year-round, and for certain school children also free breakfast during
the school year... I'm sure it's low-income based... There's also free
or low-cost meals for seniors at some of the senior centers....

I figure all kids should get the basics free, with
adults paying as they can for themselves and others.

But at some level, the saying is still true, since somebody has to pay

To each according to need, from each according to
ability, the old Communist motto, works well here.

for providing the lunches and all.... I think the original thought was
that even things that seem to be free would have a catch, or some sort
    of strings attached.... :)

There are bunches of contexts, naturally.

You mean, to use on them...? SOW, the last day I was up at the Pond
this last trip, we heard some very loud booms... RJ was speculating that someone might be doing some mining in the area...

I try to make up for my indulgences by self-control

Yeah, that sort of thing tends to keep us honest sort honest... ;)

I'm extrapolating based on current experience in my own house of
    worship...

That's likely, and many of the staff are less

    One would hope... ;)
They're there primarily for our safety, after all.
True, even it usually viewed as being there for conveniemce and

    There is that...

Ah. And a rose still smells like a rose even if one calls it a
    violet... ;)

Accuracy giving way to expediency, or something like that... :)

... Instant gratification takes too long.
That's what hard drugs are for.

A logical progression, sad to say...

There ought to be, for those, especially children, who
    need it, though.
Around here, there are free lunches available for kids, practically year-round, and for certain school children also free breakfast during

That does seem to be the trend here, anyway...

But at some level, the saying is still true, since somebody has to pay

ability, the old Communist motto, works well here.

Especially when used in the pure form...

for providing the lunches and all.... I think the original thought was

    Yup...
