    Oddly, they didn't taste nasty. Not something I'd go
    out of my way for, nor nearly so nice as spinach or
    basically any of the Chinese brassicaceous greens, but
    I ate down all of my (tiny) serving and would have
    cleaned the dish out in the interest of minimizing waste,
    only it was all gone by the time the time came.
    Just as well... :) The guests seem to have liked them well enough,

    just a gradual noodging out, I'll wait until I visit
    the regular cardiologist and see what he says.

    The danger of course is if it breaches the skin, there's
    the likelihood of a heart infection, problematic, and if
    it pops out altogether, it'll probably cause a fatality,
    even more problematic.
    Indeed... Do take care of it before it gets to that stage.....

    Title: Herman Starter
    Categories: Breads
    Servings: 1

    2 tb Or 2 envelopes active dry
    Yeast
    1/4 c Warm water
    1 c Sugar
    2 c All purpose white flour
    2 c Milk (see note)

    DAY,1: Sprinkle yeast over warm water.Add 1 tablespoon of the sugar and

    stand a few minutes until yeast is active and swelling.Combine remaining
    sugar,flour and milk in a 4 t0 6 quart glass,plastic or pottery bowl or
    container.(Do not use metal bowls or utensils as these may retard starter
    growth.)With a wooden spoon,stir in active yeast mixture.Cover loosely
    with
    a towel so Herman can breathe.Let stand in a warm draft free place
    overnight. DAYS,2,3,and 4:Stir daily with a wooden spoon.Keep
    covered.Keep
    cool. DAY,5: Stir in 1/2 cup sugar,1 cup milk and 1 cup flour.Let stand
    24
    hours. DAYS,6,7,8,and 9:Stir daily with a wooden spoon. DAY,10: Repeat

    enough starter to use freely in recipes and/or give away. Herman may be
    replenished as needed but can go no more than 5 days at room temperature

    Neither have I, personally... I think that that was what was used to
    bring in one of our reunion committee members via computer... we could
    interact with him, almost as though he was there.... But what I'm
    doing with RJ is essentially just a regular landline phone call as far
    as can be told at my end... on his end, he's able to call from anywhere
    as long as he has wireless internet available there, and to receive
    calls from me (I dial his 315 area code phone number that he has hooked
    into his skype account)... a slightly different sort of magic from the
    more commonly known about Skype... ;)
