    Hi folks.

A little late jumping in to welcome you, but I'm working my way thru the messages... :)

Home cook here. Excited to see an active usenet NG for cooking. I will
    be sharing my recipes.

I've noticed a few people jumping in to correct your usage there... ;)
We like to think that Fido message echos are a more friendly place than
usenet NGs, so are less likely to call this a NG... :) We all also tend
to read all the messages from anyone to anyone, and jump in on anything interesting... think of it as a friendly group sitting about the kitchen
table talking about all sorts of things, including food and eating.. (G)

Live in California, shoutout to anyone from here. NorCal.

I'm closer to the other coast, in upstate NY... ;) I have some extended
family in Southern California, but haven't been there since I was a kid
when we took a family trip there once... :)

Many hobbies include retro gaming, flying, network security, watch
    repair, cigars/scotch, and more.

I can relate to the scotch, although I'd not quite call it a hobby for myself... I do enjoy a good single malt... The Macallan and Glenlivet
    are my usual choices... :)

And just for the record, you may have seen our recent discussion about
who's the oldest or youngest in the echo... out of curiosity, where
    would you fit....? :)

Scotch and cigars are a hobby because I enjoy investigating the perfect blend of both to consume at the same time.

I'm an Islay guy, so Lagaulin or Laphroig are my go=to's. If I can't get my hands on those, then Glenlivet, Glenfidich, or McCallan

    I'm 45 years old.

Oh, and I'm not new to bbs'ing or fido, Ijust confused the two. It's been a long time since frequenting boards but now i'm seriously investiating launching
    my own board

    Thanks for the welcome.

Ah... I'm not into cigars at all... (G) Or any tobacco, for that
    matter... ;)

Good taste there... ;) My son favors Oban... :)

Ah, so you'll be the youngest at this point... :) About the same age as
    Sean and Shawn.... :)

From the frying pan to the fire... (G) Even if you only are getting
back to frequenting boards, and don't take the further step of having
your own board, you're coming back home... ;) Some of us never left...
I can see how the different nomenclature could get confused... ;)

    Thanks for the welcome.

We love having people join (or rejoin) us... ;) Hopefully you'll stick
around and become part of the group long-term... ;)
